ExhaustRail System 920/400
EN
3 Description
ExhaustRail System 920/400 is an easy to handle ex-
traction systems for all types of workshops. It consists
of a basic rail system completed with an exhaust ex-
traction kit. ExhaustRail System 920/400 has a very
high extraction efficiency. One extraction unit can
serve several workbays. Two 400 units serve cars
with twin exhaust pipes.

See Instruction manual, "Mounting Instructions, Rail".
4.2 Installation checklist
When the mechanical assembly and fan connection
of the system is complete, it is ready for use after
doublechecking the following:
• Check the air flow (400 m
3
/h recommended) in the
nozzle opening with an air flow indicator. If needed,
check the fan impeller rotation direction and/or
damper function.
• Check that the hose returns correctly. When re-
quired, adjust the balancer lifting power, see
• Check the damper function.
• Check that the suction trolley is easy to move on the
rail.
NOTE!
If the system is designed for use only with
stationary vehicles, the vehicle must not be
moved when the hose nozzle has been con-
nected to the vehicle exhaust pipe. For the
best operation of suction trolleys designed for
vehicles in motion, it is recommended not to
drive the vehicle more than 1.5–2.0 m parallel
to the rail, see
.
5 Use ExhaustRail System 920/400
5.1 Ratchet mechanism
. ExhaustRail System 920/400 with a bal-
ancer is delivered with a ratchet mechanism which re-
tains the hose in the required outdrawn position. The
ratchet will disengage if the hose is drawn out a little
further. The hose then returns automatically but is to
be held by hand until it has moved to its resting posi-
tion.
5.2 Damper function
. ExhaustRail System 920/400 can be fit-
ted with a mechanical damper which automatically
opens when the hose is drawn out.
The damper closes when the hose has returned to its
rest position.

Open position.
5.3 Safety coupling
. The safety coupling separates the hose
if manual/automatic disconnection fails, or if the
nozzle catches on to part of the vehicle. Systems with
a safety coupling are equipped with a centrifugal
brake which means that the hose returns to rest posi-
tion in a steady and slow manner.
Disconnection force: 4"-hose: 450 N, 6"-hose: 650 N.
NOTE!
Avoid fast acceleration when the nozzle is con-
nected to the exhaust pipe of the vehicle.
5.4 Nozzle storage (Optional)
. If the balancer is not used, the option-
al Nozzle Storage can be used to store the nozzle
and open/close the mechanical damper. Hanging the
