Button sewing
Buttons can be sewn on with the sewing machine. Buttons with 2 or 4 holes can be
attached.
Using the button sewing foot with darning
plate.
For buttons with 4 holes, sew through the
front two holes first, push work forward and
then sew through the back two holes.
Put the work under the foot and place the
button in desired position, then lower the foot.
Select the straight stitch and sew a few
securing stitches.
Install the darning plate.
Machine model without width dial: Select the
zig-zag stitch width according to the distance
between the two holes of the button.
Machine model with width dial: Select the
zig-zag stitch and adjust the stitch width
according to the distance between the two
holes of the button.
Turn the handwheel to check that the needle
goes cleanly into the left and right holes of the
button.
Slowly sew on the button with about 10
stitches. Select the straight stitch and sew a
few securing stitches.
When you finish the work, remove the darning
plate.
