18.3 Startup and Installation Test
Here explains procedures for startup and installation test of MG-SIP128 [MG-128SIPMGJ].
Step1:
Assigning office data on the Telephony Server
Refer to [M-111] Media Gateway SIP in Data Programming Manual - Business.
Step2:
Connecting maintenance terminal (PC) and MG-SIP128 [MG-128SIPMGJ]
• How to set up MG-SIP128 [MG-128SIPMGJ]
Set up an MG-SIP128 [MG-128SIPMGJ] by connecting a maintenance terminal (PC) to CON-
SOLE connector and using configuration commands. Connect CONSOLE connector on the MG-
SIP128 [MG-128SIPMGJ] and a serial port (RS232C) on the maintenance terminal (PC) with
CONSOLE CABLE (serial cable for RJ-45 and RS-232C, which is not included in the package).
Note:
When CONSOLE CABLE is used, connect the CONSOLE CABLE with the maintenance terminal
(PC) prior to connecting the cable with the CONSOLE connector of MG(SIP).
• Activating and connecting maintenance terminal (PC)
Activate Windows on the maintenance terminal (PC), click Start, point to Programs, point to Ac-
cessories, point to Communications, and click HyperTerminal.
Note
“Connection Description” window is opened. Enter a name (whatever you like; here “MGSIP” as
an example) in “Name” field. Enter “OK.”
Note:
Terminal software is necessary for assigning configuration data to IP devices. For Windows com-
puters, HyperTerminal was bundled with Windows 95 to Windows XP. This section explains the
procedure for setting data by using HyperTerminal as an example. For Windows Vista or later op-
erating systems, prepare a terminal software yourself and assign the configuration data referring
to the description for HyperTerminal.
