12.4 Operation and Maintenance
This section explains the operation and maintenance procedure of MG(BRI). Configuration data is assigned by
using Maintenance Console (PC).
12.4.1 How to Restore Config Data by Serial Connection (Local Download)
This config download/upload is performed one by one, connecting a PC to each MG(BRI) with a RS-
232C and a LAN cable. Prepare the following:
- RS-232C cable is required.
- Serial terminal emulation program (such as HyperTerminal) is required
- LAN cable (crossover) is required for restoring config data.
- PCPro has to be installed in advance.

Backing Up Config Data By Serial Connection
STEP 1
Power off MG(BRI) and disconnect it from the network.
STEP 2
Connect PC to MG(BRI) by using RS-232C cable.
STEP 3
Power on MG(BRI).
STEP 4
Activate HyperTerminal and set the following:
Bit per second:9600bps
Data bits:8bit
Parity:None
Stop bit:1bit
Flow control:None
STEP 5
Select
[Transfer]
->
[Capture File...]
.
STEP 6
Send File screen is displayed. Specify a file name to be saved, and then click the Start button.
STEP 7
At the moment that boot programming is starting (While “
Starting MG-BRI boot pro-
gram
” is being displayed for approximately five seconds), press the ESC key.
STEP 8
After <Boot mode> Main menu is displayed, enter “1” (Configuration Data).
STEP 9
After <Configuration mode> Main menu is displayed, enter “2” (Custom).
STEP 10
After a prompt (
MG-BRI>
) is displayed, enter “show config” to display configuration data
of the MG(BRI).
STEP 11
Select
[Transfer]
->
[Capture Text]
->
[Stop]
to save the config file shown in screen.
