7. Connecting the Disk Array Unit to a Host System

Power confirmation
Confirm that all the power switches of the host system, including the disk array unit and host
bus adapter, are set to OFF and that the plugs of the power cords are disconnected from the
AC outlets or power distribution panel.

Connection of the disk array unit to the host system
Insert an optionally available FC cable to the FC connector (HPx), which is used to connect
to a host bus adapter, on the controller (CONT0 or CONT1) of the disk array unit and push
the cable until it clicks into place. The FC cable has the same connector at both ends, you can
connect either one of the connectors to the controller.
IMPORTANT:
If you push too hard, you may damage the
connector and reduce the optical power. This may cause
operational errors to occur.
Connect the other connector of the FC cable to the connector of the HBA installed in the host
system.
Similarly, connect the connector of the other controller to the connector on another HBA
installed in the host system.
