Setting and Starting Access Control
For setting and starting Access Control, see "4.4 Access Control Installation" in the "NEC Storage
Manager Configuration Setting Tool User's Manual (GUI)".
NOTE:
Starting the Access Control immediately reflects on the
disk array unit.
If the assignment of logical disks for the LD set and/or the link
with path information are set incorrectly, host systems may not
be able to access the logical disks. Thus, we recommend you
fully understand the task status before performing the
procedure.
In addition, perform any scheduled stop for task and/or the host
system if required.
Using the WebSAM NEC Storage Manager client, it is
impossible to return to the Access Control stop status once
Access Control has started.
Contact your NEC trained service representative with any
questions regarding Access Control, if necessary.
1.
Server stop
Stops the host system connected to the disk array unit.
2.
Disk array settings
Depending on the environment in which the disk array unit is used, certain disk array settings
are required.
To set the parameters, see "5.1 Parameters" in the "NEC Storage Manager Configuration
Setting Tool User's Manual (GUI)".
3.
Setting a port access mode
Sets the access mode of the port to WWN or Port depending on the operation status.
4.
Creating a LD set
Creates the LD set. The LD set should have a format suitable to the OS of the host system.
We recommend you specify the host system name as the name of the LD set.
5.
Setting a link to the LD set with a path
Links the LD set with a path.
For the WWN mode, link the LD set with the WWPN, HBA port of the host system.
For the Port mode, link the LD set with the port on the disk array unit connected to the host
system.
6.
Allocating logical disks
Allocates the logical disks accessed by the host system to the LD set.
7.
Starting Access Control
Validates the access control setting by the host system for logical disks.
