How to Install the Hard Disk
Caution: Before proceeding with any disassembly of the Base Unit, turn off the
power and disconnect the AC Power Cord.
This instruction shows how to install the Hard Disk to the Flash Disk Model
Workstation.
1.
Remove the Lower Cabinet*
2.
Disconnect all the cables from the cable connectors on the workstation
3.
Remove the bracket for the AC Adapters and the AC Adapter for a printer
if it exists*
4.
Remove the chassis*
5.
Remove the PCMCIA Board and the Personality Board*
6.
Connect the Flat Cable to the IDE (J7) connector and remove the Flash
Disk on the MediaGX Processor Board
7.
Replace the PCMCIA Board and the Personality Board
* See disassembly procedure of each component in Chapter 2 of the
NCR 7448 Hardware Service Guide.
Note: After installing the Hard Disk Drive, AC Adapter for
a printer will not be located in the cabinet. Please locate the AC
Adapter out of the cabinet.
