Connect

 

the

 

Navig8r

 

GPS

 

unit

 

to

 

power

 

source

 

for

 

a

 

period

24

 

hours

 

in

 

the

 

first

 

instance

 

to

 

charge

 

and

 

condition

 

the

 

battery.

 

It

 

may

 

take

 

several

 

charge/discharge

 

cycles

 

for

 

the

 

device

 

to

 

reach

 

peak

 

endurance.

 

The

 

charging

 

process

 

will

 

take

 

longer

 

if

 

the

 

device

 

is

 

turned

 

on.

  

 

Subsequent

 

charging

 

should

 

take

 

less

 

time

only

 

be

 

charged

 

from

 

the

 

PC

 

USB

 

port

 

when

Navig8r

turned

Once

initial

 

charge

completed

 

turn

 

the

 

GPS

 

device

 

on.

 

The

 

Navig8r

 

should

 

launch

 

the

 

Navigation

 

software.

 

 

To

 

turn

 

the

 

device

 

off

 

for

 

short

 

periods

 

simply

 

remove

 

the

 

Navig8r

 

from

 

its

 

power

 

supply

 

(or

 

turn

 

the

 

ignition

 

off).

 

If

 

the

 

navigation

 

software

 

is

 

running

 

the

 

Navig8r

 

will

 

detect

 

the

 

power

 

off

 

and

 

place

 

itself

 

in

 

sleep

 

mode.

 

When

 

the

 

power

 

is

 

turned

 

back

 

on

 

again

 

the

 

Navig8r

 

will

 

start

 

at

 

the

 

last

 

screen

 

shown.

   

 

The

 

GPS

 

will

 

continue

 

to

 

draw

 

power

 

from

 

the

 

battery

 

in

 

sleep

 

mode

 

and

 

will

 

go

 

flat

 

after

 

24

 

to

 

36

 

hours.

  

 

To

 

turn

 

the

 

GPS

 

off

 

manually

 

or

 

if

 

the

 

device

 

is

 

not

 

to

 

be
