“Preliminary Checks” on page 4-1
to determine if the
current version is the same as the upgrade version - this confirms the upgrade was
successful.
6. If the upgrade was not successful, repeat
through
contact Nautel.
Updating or Replacing Compact Flash Card
A significant update to software functionality (i.e., upgrading from NX SW 2.8 to 4.7), or
corruption of the existing file system, will require installation of a new image file prior to
installing the new *.tgz file. A replacement compact flash card with pre-loaded software can be
purchased from Nautel (part # 207-8707) or you can burn the IMAGE file on the existing
compact flash card. Using a web browser go to
ftp://www3.nautel.com/NX_Series/
and
choose the most recent software release. Download the CF IMAGE file (*CF-img.zip) and
information sheet on Burning Compact Flash Cards (IS13004*).
It is also important to note that if a compact flash card has been replaced and the AUI fails to
load, you may be required to change the BIOS boot option setting for the initial startup of the
transmitter. Refer to IS18005* located in the same directory as the previously mentioned
procedure (
ftp://www3.nautel.com/NX_Series/).
NOTE!
Make sure to clear the cache of every web browser used to
remotely connect to the transmitter's AUI to ensure that the remote
AUI displays correctly after the software upgrade.
NOTE!
Various settings (i.e.; User Accounts, Network Setup, Email
Configuration, Notifications, NTP Servers) and logged data will not be
saved in the transmitter when you replace the compact flash card. If
possible, record the information from the old compact flash as outlined
in the above mentioned information sheet, so that settings can be re-
entered once the compact flash card has been replaced, and logged
data is not lost if required.
