Clearances
For the main transmitter cabinet, allow the following clearances:
• Front and Rear: 1.2 m (4.0 feet) required minimum to allow for the front and rear door
swing.
• Left Side (as viewed from front): 0.9 m (3.0 feet) required minimum for possible combiner
maintenance (the combiner pipe is 3 feet long and may need to be removed from this side).
• Right Side (as viewed from front): 0.6 m (2.0 feet) recommended minimum for possible
combiner maintenance. Allow enough room for someone to comfortably work at the side of
the transmitter for possible maintenance activities such as removing the side panel, replacing
a fuse, removing combiner pipe hardware, etc.
Check the clearance to ensure that you will be able to open all doors and access panels. The front
control panel is hinged on the left (as viewed from the front of the transmitter).
Also consider access to the rear of the transmitter during installation and servicing, and access to the
front of the transmitter during power module replacement. You must allow space to open the front
panel and slide out any of the power modules. These modules slide straight in and out of the shelf
unit in the front of the transmitter.
