Installation
Refer to the interconnection diagrams later in this chapter for cabling instructions.
NOTE:
Component and connector models/styles may vary from those shown on the
following pages.
Cabling
Natus recommends that all cabling, network, video cabling, intercom cabling, and any
other cabling for auxiliary instrumentation be run by qualified personnel under hospital
supervision and according to local standards and regulations.
Isolation
transformer
Using an isolation transformer reduces the leakage current to that of the isolation
transformer. It is good practice to use an approved isolation transformer when
interconnecting multiple pieces of equipment to the v32 or v44 amplifier system to avoid
summation of leakage currents. If using an isolation transformer, it should be UL60601-1
approved and rated for 115-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz.
Network
interface card
The V-Series amplifier systems may be supplied with an optional network interface card.
Follow the instructions supplied with the network interface card to install the card in the
host PC and test the card before connecting to the amplifier.
PSU-v32 power
supply
Select an appropriate location that will allow for ventilation around the unit and the outlet
to be within safe reach of the v32/v44 amplifier.
Run the power cable such that it will not be a tripping hazard.
The PSU-v32 will operate with a line voltage within the range of 90 to 264 volts, covering
both 115 and 230 volts operation with no user intervention.
The proper hospital-grade AC power cord is required.
