Procedure 4: Controller Not in Rightmost PXI Slot of PXI-1011
If you do not install the SCXI controller in the rightmost PXI slot of
the PXI-1011 chassis, you can control the SCXI switches using the
SH9MD-AUX cable. Refer to Table 1 to determine if your controller
supports and connects to your SCXI switch module. To install your switch
module when the controller is not in the rightmost PXI slot of a PXI-1011
chassis, complete the following steps:
1.
Power off and unplug the PXI chassis. Follow proper ESD precautions
to ensure you are grounded before installing the hardware.
2.
Confirm the correct power settings of the chassis (100, 120, 220,
or 240 VAC) shown in Figure 5.
3.
Remove the filler panel in an unused SCXI slot.
4.
Touch any metal part of your chassis to discharge static electricity.
5.
Insert the switch module into the SCXI slot.
6.
Screw the device front panel to the chassis front panel mounting rail.
7.
Connect the SH9MD-AUX cable to the rear of the PXI-1011 chassis.
8.
Connect the chassis power cord.
