Verify Your Installation
This chapter describes how to verify your hardware and software
installation.
Verify Your Hardware Installation
To verify your hardware installation, run the
ibdiag
utility, as follows:
1. If a parallel cable is connected to the pass-through port, disconnect it.
2. Exit Windows to enter the DOS shell.
3. Switch to the directory where the software is installed, usually
c:\1284ctw
.
4. Type
ibdiag
.
If
ibdiag
completes with no errors, your hardware is functioning properly.
If
ibdiag
returns an error message, refer to the Troubleshooting ibdiag
Errors section in Appendix B, Troubleshooting and Common Questions .
Verify Your Software Installation
To verify your software installation, run the
wibtest
utility, as follows:
1. Disconnect any GPIB cables.
2. In the GPIB group of Program Manager, double-click on the
wibtest icon.
If
wibtest
completes with no errors, the NI-488.2 software is installed
correctly. If
wibtest
returns an error message, refer to the
Troubleshooting wibtest Errors section in Appendix B, Troubleshooting
and Common Questions .
