LabVIEW RT Programming
This chapter contains specific information about targeting LabVIEW
Real-Time (RT) to the cFP-20
xx
module, network options for restricting
access to the module, embedding LabVIEW RT applications on the
module, and launching embedded applications when the module starts up.
For general LabVIEW RT programming information, refer to the
LabVIEW
RT User Manual
.
Targeting LabVIEW RT to a Platform
You can target LabVIEW RT to the cFP-20
xx
or to the host PC. When you
select a target platform other than the host PC, the RT Development System
downloads any LabVIEW RT application you subsequently run to the
selected target platform. Refer to Chapter 1,
Introduction
, and to Chapter 3,
Software Overview
, of the
LabVIEW RT User Manual
for more
information about the RT Development System.
Targeting LabVIEW RT to the cFP-20
xx
When you target LabVIEW RT to the cFP-20
xx
, you can run LabVIEW RT
applications on the controller. However, when targeted to the cFP-20
xx
,
LabVIEW RT lacks some features found in LabVIEW for Windows
because the controller does not have all the software of a PC. The following
LabVIEW functions are
not
supported in LabVIEW RT when targeted to
the cFP-20
xx
:
•
ActiveX
•
Front panel datalogging
•
Dialog boxes
•
Printing
•
Programmatic menus
•
Front panel Web publishing
•
NI-DAQ
LabVIEW RT applications that have any of the unsupported functionality
previously listed may or may not work as expected on the cFP-20
xx
.
