Installation and Configuration

This chapter describes how to install and configure your PCI-1200.

Software Installation

If you are using NI-DAQ, or National Instruments application software,
refer to the installation instructions in your software documentation to
install and configure your software.

If you are a register-level programmer, refer to the

PCI-1200 Register-Level

Programmer Manual.

Hardware Installation

The PCI-1200 can be installed in any unused PCI expansion slot in your
computer.

The following are general installation instructions. Consult the user manual
or technical reference manual for your computer for specific instructions
and warnings.

1.

Turn off your computer.

2.

Remove the top cover or access port to the I/O channel.

3.

Remove the expansion slot cover on the back panel of the computer.

4.

Insert the PCI-1200 in an unused 5 V PCI slot. The fit may be tight, but

do not

force the board into place.

5.

Screw the PCI-1200 mounting bracket to the back panel rail of the
computer or use the slot side tabs, if available, to secure the PCI-1200
in place.

6.

Replace the top cover on the computer.

The PCI-1200 board is installed.
