Note
National Instruments recommends using insulated wire ferrules to prevent
shorting and add strain relief.
Step 6: Configure the P7000 Drive with the Serial Port
(Optional)
Note
This step is required only if you are using the P7000 Tools configuration
software and configuring the drive with the RS-232 port. If you are using an NI
stepper motor, you can configure the drive with the DIP switches only and proceed
to

section to configure the RT target.

Connect the RS-232 serial communication cable between the drive and an available COM
port on the computer.
You must set the COM port to the following settings:
