26. HA Cluster RSF-1
The HA Cluster menu adds configuration menus for the RSF-1 Cluster Plugin from high-availability.com.
It gives you the option to setup iSCSI targets, manage sub-IPs and AutoScrub or AutoSnap Jobs for a whole
Cluster. Appliance Maps to visualize your disk location in a backplane can be imported on the passive node.
Typically, you use two servernodes that access the same SAS disks in a common SAS Dual Expander JBOD via
multipath IO. If one servernode fails or needs service, you can switch to the second node manually or automati-
cally (active/ative) to offer services like iSCSI, NFS or SMB without an interruption and with current data state.
There is no performance impact due the Cluster. This is the current default professional HA solution.

RSF-1
RSF-1 brings advanced HA (High Availability) features to ZFS providing a more resilient and robust storage
offering tolerant to system failures. Active/Active and Active/Passive configurations are supported. As well as
providing core ZFS HA and failover capability to ensure availability in the event of failure, RSF-1 also brings ring-
fencing mechanisms to protect multi-tenanted storage devices, orchestrates the seamless failover of COMSTAR
and ALUA targets, and manages virtual network access (views) to the data.“

The RSF-1 Cluster Plugin can be obtained with support directly from high-availability.com or
from distributors specialised to HA/ Clustering solutions. Napp-it only offers a menu to make handling easier.
The RSF-1 Plugin or support for clustering is a 3rd party offer and not available from napp-it.org.
