The block splitter comes partially assembled and is shipped in carefully packed carton. After all the parts have been removed
from the package, you should have:
1. Cutter assembly
2. Handle
3. Handle extension (only for some models)
4. Operator’s manual
5. Hardware bag, including:
Height adjustment wheel
Twist the wheel to lower or raise the blade to set it at correct height for units to be
split.
Handle and handle extension
Set handle in different position to load units or adjust blade height. Push down
the handle to split the unit.
Top blade and bottom blade
Four-sided blades top and bottom provide longer life by rotating to a fresh blade
should a blade ever get dull.
Support table
Both spring-loaded to ensure the bottom blade touches the block during splitting
operation as well as the ability to create an undercut when splitting.
Stop latch
4 Operation
1. Raise the handle and support it with the stop latch. Spin the height adjustment wheel to open the blades far enough apart
to insert the unit to be split. Place the block in center of the blades and position the block to the required cut line.
WARNING!
Don not cut close to the edge of the block. This could result in cracking, crumbling or an inaccurate
finish to the split.
2. Adjust the height adjustment wheel to set the top blade. The handle should be approximately 15° above horizontal when
resting on the block before splitting. This also gives adequate clearance when the handle is fully raised to smoothly move
similar blocks in and out of the opening.
3. Lower the handle to bring blade tight onto the block. Work the blade into the unit a couple of times to start the fracture
by pushing the handle down and up a few times. Each time increasing the downward pressure to set the blade. With the
blade in full contact with the block, push down the handle quickly to split the block.
