4.3.2.
Monitor emulation
Monitor emulation is a feature that allows Video Grabber to “present itself as a monitor” when there
is no monitor connected to the ‘Video Output’ port. Thanks to the ability to use custom EDID Video
Grabber can even pretend to be a specific model of monitor.

Emulation
Allows user to enable monitor emulation. The following options are
possible:

None – monitor emulation is disabled
-
EDID override – monitor emulation is disabled, Video Grabber
overrides EDID provided by the monitor with its own
-
DP Monitor – Video Grabber presents itself as DisplayPort
monitor and provides its EDID

Custom EDID
If custom EDID has been uploaded to the Video Grabber (See 4.3.3, p.
47) then user can decide whether default EDID should be used or the
uploaded one.
Available options:
-
Unchecked – default EDID will be used and Video Grabber will
either:
o
Override EDID provided by the monitor its own
default EDID (when

is set to EDID override)
o
Present itself as a default DP monitor (when
1
is set
to DP Monitor).

Checked – custom EDID will be used and Video Grabber will
either:
o
Override EDID provided by the monitor by the
uploaded EDID (when
1
is set to EDID override)
o
Present itself as a custom – defined by the uploaded
EDID – DP monitor (when
1
is set to DP Monitor).
For this to be possible custom EDID has to be uploaded first
(See 4.3.3, p. 47)

Saves the configuration set on the Preview & Adjust page.
