Section 3: Front

 

Panel Connections, Controls, and Indicators 

 

The front panel of each EDP Double Conversion UPS contains various connectors, controls, and indicators. These items 

are described as follows. See figure 3-1 and 4-1 for connector locations. Further details regarding use of controls and 

indicators may be found in the 

Startup and Operation

 section of this manual.

 

 

Controls

:

 

 

INPUT CIRCUIT BREAKER

:  30-amp circuit breaker protects input circuitry and wiring. This circuit breaker is 

also used as an AC switch to apply and remove input power to the power supply. Input breaker is marked 

ON

 and 

OFF

 for clarity.

 

 

Connections

:

  

 

POWER CONNECTOR

: The power supply contains a single Power connector located in the upper middle of the 

front panel. The mating CPC Series 3

®2

 circular plastic connector provides the means for connecting both input and 

output power to the appropriate power terminal block buses in the cabinet. The Power connector contains four 

conductors. Black represents utility line Hot. White represents Neutral. Red represents Output Hot. Green represents 

Ground. The internal Input and Output circuits share the Neutral return path and Ground conductors.   

 

BATTERY INPUT

:  Anderson

-type connector: used for connecting the external battery string to the power supply. 

 

BATTERY TEMPERATURE PROBE

:  RJ-11 connector: provides connection the external temperature probe for 

temperature compensated battery charging. 

 

RELAY / TIMER CONNECTORS

:  On Shore Tech OSTTJ

®3 

9 pin terminal blocks: allows for external alarm 

reporting to a conflict monitor for the five, dedicated dry contact alarm relays. Each relay has a set of three pins. 

NOTE

: The first three pins from the left are unmarked and reserved for future use.
