PN S0000091, Rev. A
6/13/00

The RouteFinder

Model MTASR1-100 is a 1-Port 10BaseT/10Base2 Router for the Global market.  The

following is a procedure for testing an MTASR1-100 router and the composite link cable in synchronous
mode. Multi-Tech routers will connect to themselves and proceed to send packets into a modem in
synchronous loopback mode and receive the same packets back.

holding the Ans/Org switch in the down position, switch the MT2834BLI modem back on.

13. Continue to hold Ans/Org switch in the down position until five seconds after the modem lights have

ceased to cycle.

14. The CD and TR lights, plus a speed light (probably a 33 light, flashing) on the modem will light.  The

MT2834BLI modem is now in loopback mode, using synchronous data protocol.  Data sent to the
modem will be sent directly back to device attached to the modem.
