Battery Powered Scenarios
Using the MSTronic Solar & POE Battery Charger
Version 2014-04-24
Introduction
This guide gives suggesetd ways of using the MSTronic
Solar and Battery
Charger
. Examples are given for both 24 and 48V POE applications.
Ubiquiti products generally fall into two categories
24 V POE Powered
: These products actually are happy with any
voltage between 12 & 24V.
48V POE Powered
: These products generally need between 39 & 57V.
In the scenarios below, the
Solar & POE Battery Charger
needs an external
DC power source. This is supplied by you, and can be any of the following:
Solar panel(s)
Wind generator
DC power source plugged into an AC supply
The figures that follow are just examples; there are many other possible
combinations.
Power Loading:
Care should be taken in your design as to how much POE
power each device can supply. Please refer to the Ubiquiti datasheets.
For example, a Nanobeam-M5-19 consumes 8W of power.
