If problems still occur, see

MK1200 Version Information on page G-7

for system information before calling for

service help.

The Mobile Companion icon does not
appear in the task tray

Poor RF card connection
or bad RF card.

Remove the PCMCIA card cover (see

Installing/Removing the RF Card on page
2-16

). Press the card ejector button to

release the card, then press the card back
into its connector to secure it in place.

Reboot the MK1200. If the Mobile Companion
icon still does not appear in the task tray,
replace the RF card.

The radio software is not
present in the \platform
folder.

Verify presence of radio software or re-install
\Platform partition software.

When downloading files to the
MK1200 from a .zip file using
ActiveSync, a message displays
indicating there is not enough free
disk space to copy the application

Files cannot download
directly from a .zip file.

Extract/unzip the files to the host computer,
then transfer the unzipped files to the
MK1200 using ActiveSync.

When downloading a large file over
ethernet, IE issues an insufficient
memory message

For some file types, IE
requires free RAM
equivalent to twice the
file's size.

This is an IE limitation.

When upgrading using a CF/PC card,
the MK1200 cannot find files on the
card

The CF/PC card is not
formatted properly for the
MK1200.

Format the CF/PC card as FAT16.

Flash file system is corrupt

Reset or power loss
during write to file
system.

Format file system partition using

Start >

Settings > Control Panel > Storage Manager

,

and re-install partition data.

Copying large amount of files from CF
or PC card to the application folder
fails with error "Access is denied"

Archive bit of the folder
properties set.

Clear the archive bit of folder properties.

After rebooting the MK1200, you can't
navigate using the buttons

In the MK1200, by
default, the focus is not
set to desktop after a
reboot.
