Editing Profiles
Mode Tab

To change the ESSID and operating mode for a profile, select the profile and tap Edit to display the
Mode
tab.

Set the operating mode from the
Operating Mode
drop-down list. Choose
Infrastructure
(the default mode)
to enable the MK1250 to transmit and receive data with an AP.
Select the country of operation for the MK1250 from the
Country:
drop-down list. This should match the
APs country setting, and be appropriate for the country of operation. Select
International
if using the
MK1250 with a non-Symbol AP or a pre-AP 4131 model.

To save the Mobile Companion settings and retain them across cold boot cycles, tap
Start > Programs >
Save Configuration
.
Authentication Tab
Select the Authentication tab to configure server-based authentication. Select one of the following
Authentication options from the
Authentication
drop-down list.
•
None - Default setting when authentication is not required on the network. The client adapter does not
use any authentication scheme when
Open System
is selected on the
Encryption
tab.
•
Kerberos
•
LEAP
•
EAP-TLS
•
PEAP.
