Overview

Chapter 1: MCD 5000 Deskset Description

An external desk paddle microphone or headset can be connected to the MCD 5000 Deskset. A
Headset Jack Box is used to connect a pair of prong plugs to interface the headset to an RJ45
cable connected to the headset Connector. An external footswitch can be connected to the MCD
5000 Deskset to enable hands free PTT and radio channel monitor ability.

The MCD 5000 Deskset supports the following features:

•

Perform radio calls

•

Emulate and Control Radio features including SB9600 interface

•

Perform intercom calls between all MCD 5000 Desksets connected to the same radio in

the system

•

Generate and view emergency calls

•

Monitor radio and parallel MCD 5000 Deskset communication

•

Full operation via LCD display and keypad

•

Display the MCD 5000 Deskset and radio status

•

Manage and control user access
