Check that the mating faces that contact the heads are not damaged or blistered
Removing the cylinder head
NOTE
THE HEAD REMOVAL OPERATIONS REFER TO ONE HEAD BUT APPLY TO BOTH
•
Remove the head cover
•
Unscrew the spark plug
•
Bring the piston of the left cylinder to
top dead centre
•
Check that the punching of the crank-
shaft pinion (1) is aligned with the
punching on the timing system sprock-
et (2). The punching on the timing sys-
tem sprocket can be viewed through
the hole of the chain guide cap
NOTE
PROCEDURE VALID ONLY FOR E5 VEHICLES
•
Remove the fastening screw of the
rocker pin retainer fork
