· To prevent injuries, never use the appliance if the blade set is damaged.
· Do not use disposable batteries. Rechargeable batteries should only be replaced at author-
ized Service Centres.
· Before the appliance is used for the first time, it should be charged for 15 hours.
· The appliance is safety insulated and radio screened. It meets the requirements of EU
Directive 2004/108/EC regarding electromagnetic compatibility and EC Low Voltage Directive
2006/95/EC.
Exhausted batteries/rechargeable batteries should not be disposed of in household
waste. Dispose of them in accordance with legal regulations.
Mains operation
· Connect the appliance plug on the plug-in transformer to the appliance socket (Fig. 1).
· Plug the plug-in transformer into the mains socket.
· Switch on the appliance using the on/off switch (Fig. 2
ⓐ
) and, after use, switch it off again
(Fig. 2
ⓑ
).
· Note: If the appliance does not function in mains operation when the battery is fully dis-
charged, switch it off and charge the battery for a few minutes.
· Switch the appliance on again and operate from the mains power-supply.
Charging the battery/battery operation
· Switch off the appliance using the on/off switch (Fig. 2
ⓑ
). The appliance will only recharge
when switched off.
· Connect the appliance plug to the appliance (Fig. 1).
· Plug the plug-in transformer into the mains socket.
· During charging or when the plug-in transformer is connected (apart from during mains
operation), the charging indicator (D) is illuminated.
· Recommendation: To extend the battery service life, the battery should only be recharged
when the performance of the appliance has deteriorated considerably.
A maximum charging time of 24 hours should not be exceeded!
· It should take around 15 hours for the appliance to charge to full capacity.
· When the battery is fully charged, the appliance can be used for up to 60 minutes without
mains connection. This capacity is attained after approx. 5 - 10 charging cycles.
· Note: In case of insufficient maintenance of the blade set, the operating time can be reduced
considerably.
Fitting the attachment comb
· Hold the desired attachment comb by the guide arms at the side (Fig. 3
ⓐ
)
and guide these accurately into the recess in the appliance until they engage (Fig. 4).
· Slide the attachment comb to set the desired hair length.
· This adjustment is performed by pressing the top of the appliance (Fig. 5
ⓐ
) and by sliding
(Fig. 5
ⓑ
) the cut length adjuster.
· When you release the cut length adjuster, the attachment comb clicks into position at the
required setting.
