SETTING AND OPERATION OF PARTS CATCHER (S TYPE)
The procedure used for setting the parts catcher positions and in/out operation is explained below.
The parts catcher is used to discharge a machined workpiece.
Two kinds of parts catcher specifications are available. They are bucket specification and hand
specification.

Setting Parts Catcher Positions
Set the parts catcher positions by following the procedure indicated below.
The position data is set in the coordinate values (unit: 0.001 mm) in reference to the home position
(parts catcher IN end position).
At a spindle 1 side screen, press the function selection key
(SYSTEM) then press the menu

several times, and the
[PMM]
soft-key is displayed.
Press the
[PMM]
soft-key and then the
[POS]
soft-key, and the screen displays the coordinate
values of the present parts catcher position. Check the displayed coordinate values.
1)
Place the DOOR INTERLOCK key-switch in the
NORMAL
position.
2)
Close the front door.
3)
Place the PANEL key-switch in one of the positions
indicated below.
(ON)
(PANEL/EDIT)
4)
Press the HEAD CHANGE switch
(head 2) to
select the spindle 2 side.
5)
Select the MDI mode (
) with the MODE
selection switch.
