MANUAL OPERATION B-77
14-1
Registering Rotary Tools
Display the ROTARY TOOL screen and register the tool type (O.D. cutting or face milling) before
mounting a rotary tool in the turret.
Remember that the direction of spindle rotation is determined by the tool registration
data and the spindle will rotate in the wrong direction if the settings are incorrect.
Machining while the tool is rotating in the wrong direction can damage the tool and the
machine.
1)
Display the ROTARY TOOL screen.
2)
Move the cursor to the station number where a
rotary tool is mounted.
3)
Register a rotary tool using the soft-keys.
If the command specifies the rotary tool spindle rotation (M13 or M14) is executed with the
turning tool registered, the alarm (EX4415) occurs and the rotary tool does not rotate.
