B-76 MANUAL OPERATION

ROTARY TOOLS (MC TYPE)
The procedure used for registering a rotary tool for the MC type, and for C-axis operation, is
explained below.
<S type>
1.
When a rotary tool spindle is selected manually or when spindle clamp operation
is carried out manually, selection of a rotary tool spindle or spindle clamp is made
for both spindle 1 and spindle 2.
Concerning the chuck interlock, however, it is valid only for the spindle selected
by the HEAD CHANGE switches. Since the chuck interlock is invalid for the
spindle not selected by these switches, use only the selected spindle for the
operation that uses a rotary tool.
If rotary tool is used at the spindle not selected with the HEAD CHANGE
switches, the workpiece may come out of the chuck and cause damage to the
machine.
2.
When the following M codes are specified in a block, the chuck interlock is valid
only for the spindle related to the M code specified last.
M45 . . . . . . . spindle 1 side C-axis clamp
M245 . . . . . . spindle 2 side C-axis clamp
M68 . . . . . . . spindle 1 side spindle brake clamp
M268 . . . . . . spindle 2 side spindle brake clamp
Since the chuck interlock is invalid for the spindle related with other specified M
codes, the rotary tool must be used only for the spindle related to the M code
specified last.
If a rotary tool is used at the spindle other than the one for which the last M code
was specified, the workpiece may come out of the chuck and cause damage to
the machine
3.
If operation mode is returned to automatic after manual operation for rotary tool
spindle selection or spindle clamp with spindle 1 or spindle 2 selected by the
HEAD CHANGE switch
(head 1) or
(head 2), the chuck interlock
becomes valid only for the spindle related to the M code specified last in
automatic mode.
Since the chuck interlock is invalid for the spindle selected in the manual mode,
the rotary tool must be used only for the spindle related to the M code specified
last in the automatic mode.
If a rotary tool is used at the spindle other than the one for which the last M code
was specified in the automatic mode, the workpiece may come out of the chuck
and cause damage to the machine.
