Cautions when Moving the Tailstock
<Conditions required for unclamping the tailstock>
When unclamping the tailstock, the necessary conditions must be satisfied. If the tailstock cannot
be unclamped although the unclamp procedure is correctly followed, check if the following
conditions are all satisfied.
1.
The spindle or rotary tool spindle (MC type) is not rotating.
2.
Turret 1 or turret 2 is not being indexed. (The STATUS indicator
[TRCL]
is lit.)
3.
The tailstock spindle is not in the inching state.
4.
The tailstock spindle is in the IN position. (The indicator in the
(TSI) switch is lit.)
5.
The Z-axis is not moving.
6.
The protection cover of the tool presetter arm is mounted to the base.
7.
The tailstock and saddle 1 are at the joint position.
<Other Conditions>
1.
The spindle (rotary tool spindle) cannot be rotated while the tailstock is unclamped.
2.
The tailstock spindle cannot be moved out, if the tailstock is unclamped.
3.
The tailstock cannot be unclamped while the tailstock spindle is in the OUT position or the
inching state.
4.
The turret 1 X-axis movement (automatic and manual operation) is not possible while the
tailstock is unclamped.
5.
The tailstock can be clamped only after the turret 1 Z-axis is positioned in the negative
direction.
6.
For the manual operation, the tailstock cannot be placed in the tailstock joint mode even
when pressing the TSTMOD switch in the handle mode. Once the tailstock is connected to
the saddle 1 in other mode, the handle mode can be used to move the tailstock.
