4. Creasing Blade Installation
Creasing Blade & Anvil Sets are available in two sizes - Standard for sheets over 0.25mm thick &
Narrow for sheets under 0.25. These figures are only a guide - good results can, in most cases, still
be achieved outside a Blade Set's range - see Trouble shooting Guide for more information.
The following procedure should be used when installing a new Blade Set in a machine for the first
time. Subsequent installation (i.e when swopping from Standard to a previously installed Narrow
Blade Set) should not require re-setting.
Rotate the DynaCrease Crankshaft by hand until the Blade Drive
Power Links are at top dead centre (Counterweight immediately below Crankshaft).
Examine the new Blade Set and check that the Blade Alignment Bolts are correctly
positioned - the high point of the Blade eccentrics should be facing the high point of the Anvil
eccentrics at both ends. If not, loosen the M4 locking screws slightly, adjust the bolts
accordingly, & re-tighten the locking screws. (See FIG.4.2).
Assemble the Blade Adjustment Assemblies onto the Blade or Anvil Pins & install the Blade
Set into the machine. (See the Blade Assembly section in the Operators Manual).
4.4 Ensure that the Anvil (or Blade) is at top Dead Centre (Crankshaft Counterweight
immediately below Crankshaft) and lightly secure the Blade Adjustment Assemblies with
their Shoulder Bolts. Rotate the Adjustment Cams by hand until they stop then tighten the
Shoulder Bolts securely. Finally, rotate the Crankshaft half a turn to bring the Anvil clear of
the Blade. (See FIG.4.4).
