Chapter 3: System Installation and Testing

The ImageXpress Confocal HT.ai system ships fully configured. A Molecular Devices Field
Service Engineer installs the system at your site. The base system includes the instrument,
laser light source, acquisition computer, and accessory kit. See

Table 3-1: Accessory Kit

The acquisition computer ships with the MetaXpress software already installed. The instrument
connects to the acquisition computer during installation. There are four main connections,
excluding power cords.

Fiber-optic light guide from the external light source to the instrument
USB 2.0 cable from the instrument to the acquisition computer (data)
USB 3.0 cable from the instrument to the acquisition computer (camera control)
RS-232 to USB 2.0 cable from the external light source to the acquisition computer
