Transmitted Light Software Configuration

You can create illumination settings to turn the lamp on and off. Do the following procedure to
create illumination settings named Transmitted Lamp Off and Transmitted Light, and to set a
level for the lamp illumination.

Tip: Do not select illumination settings that automatically turn the transmitted light on
and off or adjust the lamp power during acquisition. Doing so is time consuming and can
damage the lamp.

To configure transmitted light settings:

1.

1. In the MetaXpress software, do one of the following to display the Configure Illumination

dialog:

From the simplified menu, click Control > Devices > Configure Illumination.
From the standard menu, click Devices > Configure Illumination.

2. In the Name field, enter TL Off.

3. Select the Lamp, ImageXpress Micro Transmitted Light check box and set the Lamp

illumination to zero.

4. In the Name field, enter TL.

5. Select the IXConfocal Module Dichroic Wheel, click the corresponding drop-down, and

select DAPI.

6. Select the IXConfocal Module Emission Wheel, click the corresponding drop-down, and

select Empty, usually Position 7, or FITC.

7. Select the Lamp, ImageXpress Micro Transmitted Light check box. Leave the illumination

power value as is.
