5.7 Install Sub-Manifold Heater Plates (Option)
1. Apply anti-seize compound to the screws (M6).
2. Bolt and torque screws in a cross pattern, gradually increasing torque to
specified value. Refer to the General Assembly drawing for torque values.
NOTE
If you need to install the optional sub-manifold wire armor, please refer to
“5.10.4 Wiring Channel” on page 5-41.
5.8 Install Bridge Heater Plates (Optional)
5.8.1 Install Heater Plate Thermocouple
These procedures apply to systems with external heater plates. Refer to the
General Assembly drawing to determine which heater plate applies to your
system.
NOTE
The controlling thermocouple for the heater plates is located in the heater
plates.
The controlling thermocouples for the heater elements are located in the
manifold.
Current bronze heater plates are directly interchangeable with previous
copper based plates that may exist on your
Mold-Masters
system. However,
when multiple heater plates are controlled by one thermocouple, these
heater plates must be made of the same material, must be of equal voltage
and must be located in similar thermal environments.
1. Insert the thermocouple into the bore. Ensure the thermocouple is
touching the bottom of the bore hole.
2. Press down on the thermocouple and gently bend to 90°.
