Screen motor cable

X

Strip the cable’s outer sheath and pull back the screen braid.

X

Strands B1/B2 (brake) and T1/T2 (thermistor) have a separate 
screen braid. Expose these.

X

Push the motor cable’s screen braid forward so as to cover the 
screen braids of strands B1/B2 and T1/T2 over a large area.

X

Secure the clip where the braids overlap.

X

Secure the braid ends with a rubber grommet or with insulating 
tape to prevent the braid from fraying.

X

Connect the intertwisted strands (U, V, W and PE) and the 
separately twisted strands B1/B2 and T1/T2 to the 
corresponding terminals in the motor or in the connector (SET-
M4-A).

X

Connect the screen braids to earth potential over a large area:
– in the motor connection cable’s plug
– in the motor’s screw connections.

The illustrated screen clamp provides an example of large-area 
earth connections.
