With coupling module ZB 2-155-UT1, an internal
connection is provided between the two ASi cable
trays. Accordingly, this type of coupling module can
be used as a cross over or T-connector for the yellow
data and power cables.
With coupling module ZB 2-105-UT1, the two ASi
cable trays are not connected. The upper cable tray
is used for the yellow data and power ASi cable and
the lower cable tray is used for a black ASi cable
which supplies the actuators with auxiliary power at
24 V DC. The construction and dimensions of the
black ASi cable is identical to the yellow ASi cable,
the sole difference being the insulation colour.
For safety reasons, the auxiliary power feed must be
galvanically isolated from the ASi circuit and meet
the specifications for PELV power supplies.
Connecting the ASi cable
A defined mechanical and electrical interface is
provided between the coupling modules and the
user modules. The specifications ensure correct
electrical connection of the ASi cable and
mechanical sealing to protection class IP 67.
To ensure that the cable entry is properly sealed, the
coupling module must be fitted with cable grommets
which are suitable for the cable cross section.
Unused cable entries in the coupling module must be
fitted with a blanking grommet. Both grommet types
are inserted within the coupling module before
inserting the ASi cable and fitting the user module or
plain cover.

Choose the correct grommet type and insert the
grommet in the coupling module as shown in
Fig. 18.
