• Ensure front wheels are swivelled to the back.
• Chock front wheels or hitch mower to the UTV to prevent
unexpected movement.
•
Use jack stands or ramps to lift the rear of the mower off
the ground.
• Ensure the under deck is clean and free of debris.
• Carefully locate the knife assemblies under the mower
deck, and clean the swing knives and knife disk.
• Use a 3/4” wrench, remove shoulder bolt and lock nut
and remove swing knife from knife disk.
•
Position new or flipped swing knife under knife disk .
• Reinstall shoulder bolt through swing knife into square
hole in the knife disk and secure the assembly with
locknut.
• Tighten locknut with 3/4” wrench until locknut bottoms
out on shoulder bolt. Torque to: 67.8 nm (50 lb-ft)
• NOTE: The knife must swing freely after tightening. If
knife does not swing freely, check for debris between the
swing knife and knife disk.
• Repeat steps for remaining swinging knives.
Swing Knife Replacement
Before beginning work, ensure the ignition key is removed and pocketed. Disconnect the battery and spark plug wire.
Read section on maintenance safety for safe work procedure.
Mower knives are extremely sharp. Use appropriate personal protective equipment when handling and servicing blades.
Failure to do so could result in serious injury.
Replacement parts are available from your dealer or MK Martin. Note: swing knives are reversible and can be
resharpened.
Knife Disk Replacement
• Ensure front wheels are swivelled to the back.
• Chock front wheels or hitch mower to the UTV to prevent unexpected movement.
• Use jack stands or ramps to lift the rear of the
mower off the ground.
• Ensure the under deck is clean and free of
debris.
• Carefully locate the knife assemblies under the
mower deck, and clean the swing knives and
knife disk.
• Using 15/16” wrench, remove bolt, lock-washer
and blade washer remove knife disk.
• Remove all the swing knives from the old knife
disk, and install on the new one.
• Position new knife disk on the spindle shaft and
lock into the shaped shoulder.
• Reinstall bolt, lock washer and blade washer
and secure and torque the bolt to 203.4 nm (150
lb-ft.)
