Precautions for handling files
This section explains precautions for handling files of the C Controller module.
(1) When writing a file
The following are precautions for writing a user file using FTP or copy registration
from a CompactFlash card to the standard RAM or standard ROM.
• Terminate all the user programs running in the C Controller module, which use
the file to be written.
• Check that the user file to be copied does not affect the running user program.
(2) Powering off (including reset) during file operation
(a) Data corruption or file system failure may occur if the C Controller system is
powered off or reset (including remote RESET) while the user file in the following
memory is being written.
• Standard RAM
• Standard ROM
• CompactFlash card
When the file in the above memory is being written, close the file before powering
off or resetting.
(b) Data may not be updated if the C Controller system is powered off or reset
(including remote reset) without closing the user file being used in the following
memory.
• Standard RAM
• Standard ROM
• CompactFlash card
Close all the files being used before overwriting.
(3) Operating the same file concurrently
Access to a file being written is not allowed for the C Controller module.
Writing data to a file being accessed is also not allowed.
To perform multiple operations to the same file, wait for one processing to complete
before starting another.
(4) File name and directory name
Use alphanumeric characters and special characters (excluding \, /, *, ?, <, >, |, :, and
") for the names of a file and a directory stored in the following memories in the C
Controller module:
• Standard RAM
• Standard ROM
• CompactFlash card
If a file or a directory with a name including characters other than alphanumeric
characters and special characters (excluding \, /, *, ?, <, >, |, :, and ") is stored in the
memories above in the C Controller module, the following phenomena may occur:
• Character corruption on file names and directory names
• Loss of files and directories
