11. Maintenance
11.1 . Gas cha rge

1.Conn ect g as cyl inder t o the se rvic e port of stop val ve (3-w ay).
2.Exe cute air purge of the pipe (or h ose ) coming from refrigerant gas cylind er.
3.Repleni sh specified am ount of refri ger ant, whi le r unning the air con ditione r
for co oling.
Note:
In case of a dding ref rigerant , comply wit h the qua ntity specif ied fo r the re frigerat ing
cycle.
Caution:
•D o not di scharge the re friger ant into the atmo sphe re.
Ta ke care not to dis char ge refri ger ant into the atmospher e duri ng
installa tion, re instal lation, or r epai rs t o the re frige rant circ uit.
•F or a dd iti ona l char ging, char ge the re fri ger ant from l iqui d phase of the gas
cylinder .
If the refri ger ant is charged from the gas p has e, com posi tion change may
oc cur in th e refri ger ant in side th e cylind er and the outdoor un it. In this case,
abilit y of the re frige rat ing cycle decr eases or n orm al op era tion can be
imp ossibl e. Howeve r, cha rgi ng th e liquid r efri ger ant all at once may cause
the c ompr essor t o be lock ed. Thus , char ge the re fri ger ant slowly.
To mainta in t he high pressure o f th e gas cylinder, wa rm the g as cylinder with war m
water (un der 40 °C [104 °F] ) durin g col d sea so n. But never use na ked fi re or st eam.
