1.4.30 Wiring and arrangement of RS-485 terminals

(1) RS-485 terminal block
(2) FR-E7TR RS-485 terminal block
RS-485 terminal can be used instead of a PU
connector connected to a standard control circuit
terminal to perform RS-485 communication. To do this,
attach a control terminal option, FR-E7TR.
Parameters need to be set are the same as ones need
for RS-485 communication with a PU connector.
Refer to page 365 for the detail of initial settings and
specification of RS-485 communication with RS485
terminal.

(3) Connection of RS-485 terminals and wires
Loosen the terminal screw and insert the cable into
the terminal.
Wire the stripped cable after twisting it to prevent it
from becoming loose. In addition, do not solder it.
Use a bar terminal as necessary.

Undertightening can cause cable disconnection or
malfunction. Overtightening can cause a short circuit or
malfunction due to damage to the screw or unit.

Use shielded or twisted cables for connection to the
control circuit terminals and run them away from the
main and power circuits (including the 200V relay
sequence circuit).
When using the bar terminal (without insulation
sleeve), use care so that the twisted wires do not
come out.
