Shut down the system using the LCD panel. Unplug the external power supply unit from
the AC power source.
c.
Wearing a properly terminated anti-static wrist strap, pinch the two spring-loaded handles
on the insertion/extraction levers located at the far left and far right sides of the HX Processor
Module, and then push the levers out away from each other to unlock and eject the module
from its bay (as shown in
above).
d.
Carefully slide the module out from the chassis.
2.
Using
below as a guide, do the following:
a.
Place the processor module on a clean, ESD-protective surface
b.
On the processor module, remove the strap across the first seven pair of pins on the mount
point closest to the center of the module (connector J12). Do not discard the strap.
c.
Check the standoffs (supports). For guidance, see
.
•
Hexagon-shaped metal standoff
: Check that the metal standoff is in place on the
processor module. It is located toward the middle of the processor module.
•
Plastic standoff
: Check that the thicker end of the standoff is securely pressed into the
hole on the processor module.
3.
Mount the PEC-1 onto the processor module. See
as a guide.
a.
Align the PEC-1 mount points/holes over the mount points and stand-offs on the processor
module.
b.
Carefully press the PEC-1 into place on the processor module. Be careful not to bend any
pins or force the card onto the module.
4.
Secure the PEC-1 to the processor module using the supplied screw (located in a small plastic
bag attached to the PEC-1 anti-static bag). This screw attaches to the hexagon-shaped metal
stand-off on the processor module. Do
not
overtighten this screw.
5.
Insert the processor module into the HX Controller chassis as outlined beginning in step 5 on
.
IMPORTANT
The pin strap on the mount point (J12) must be removed before installing the
PEC-1. If the PEC-1 is later removed, the strap MUST be re-installed, or the
processor module will not function.
