Setting Initial System Configuration
Upon initial power up, the system uses DHCP to establish a network connection. If the site is not
running a DHCP server, you must provide site-specific IP addresses and other network information
before you can begin programming the system in DB Programming. You can also program the
database offline using the Offline Mode option in the System Administration & Diagnostics
application.
To complete the initial system configuration, use the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) panel and controls
on the front of the server. The LCD allows you to navigate various menus and options provided by
the LCD application. For detailed information about the LCD application menus and options, see
.

NOTICE
To avoid system malfunctions observe the following rules when installing a MiVoice Office 250:
• DHCP is enabled by default to allow the system to become operational upon boot up. After the
system has booted up, replace the DHCP address(es) with static IP addresses. If using a DHCP
server, the IP address may change, dropping any CT Gateway and/or Voice Processing connections.
• IP Addresses, subnet mask, and gateways: it is not necessary that the CT Gateway be on the same
LAN as the IP address and subnet mask of the system.
• Systems equipped with a Processor Expansion Card (PEC-1) have two IP addresses—one for the
Processor Module (PM-1) and one for the PEC-1. Both IP addresses MUST be on the same subnet
mask.
