Connecting the Power Source
The HX Controller’s external power supply unit must be connected to a properly grounded, isolated,
and dedicated AC power source. Mitel recommends using appropriate surge/spike protection and
an appropriate UPS unit.
Like with the chassis, the power supply unit can be placed on a secure table, desk, or shelf, or it
can be wall mounted or rack mounted as best suits the customer’s needs.
To attach the power supply unit:
1.
Locate the power supply unit within five feet (1.5 meters) of the HX Controller chassis and within
eight feet (2.4 meters) of an AC power source.
2.
If rack mounting the unit, secure the unit to the rack using a suitable tie wrap or strap. If wall
mounting the unit, refer to instructions included in the wall-mount kit.
3.
Plug the male DIN connector on the end of the power supply unit’s connector cable into the
female DIN connector on the rear panel of the HX Controller chassis (see
4.
Plug the female C13 end of the AC power cord into the male C14 socket connector on the power
supply unit.
5.
Plug the other end of the AC power cord into an appropriate AC power source via a surge/spike
protector and/or UPS unit.
Do not
plug in and turn on the UPS unit until you are ready to power
on and boot up the system.
6.
If using the UPS monitoring feature (see page 148 for details), plug the appropriate end of the
USB cable included with the UPS unit into one of the USB-A ports on the rear panel of the HX
Controller chassis. Then plug the other end of the USB cable into the appropriate connector on
the UPS unit.
