8602 SoftPhone Application
8602 application software is distributed separately from the system software. Performance and
interoperability is equivalent to hard IP phones. For details, refer to the
Model 8602 User Guide

Digital Telephones
The following digital telephones can be installed on DEI equipment attached to the MiVoice Office
250:
• 8528 and 8568
• 8500, 8520, and 8560
• Basic, Standard, Associate, Executive, and Professional models
8528 and 8568
The newer Mitel 8528 and 8568 digital telephones replace the 8520 and 8560 digital telephones,
respectively. The newer telephones function similar to the 8520 and 8560 with the following
exceptions:
• New design look—see the images in Appendix D.
• Universal codecs (A-law and Mu-law interfaces) that do not require separate hardware revisions
to support both U.S. and U.K. markets.
• Increased dynamic range and greater handset amplitude. Provides full compliance with FCC
HAC and the American for Disabilities Act, as well as Section 255 of the Telecommunications
Act and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

• Supports Mitel 12- and 48-Button Programmable Key Modules (PKMs)—see page 115
The 8528 and 8568 do
not
support the following peripherals or features that are applicable to the
8520 and 8560:
• PKM 50 (previously known as the 8450 50-Button Direct Station Select/Busy Lamp Field
[DSS/BLF] unit)
• PKM 16 (previously known as the 8416 Mini-DSS unit)
• Personal Computer Data Port Module (PCDPM)
• Modem Data Port Module (MDPM)
• Off-Hook Voice Announce (OHVA)
• Dual-color LEDs. The System flag “Use Green LEDs for Direct Rings” does not apply.
The 8528 and 8568 are available in all English-speaking markets in which the 8520 and 8560 are
available. These include English-speaking Canada, U.S., Australia, U.K., and European countries.
