• When the DEI has reached the overallocated value. In this case, you are warned that you have 

reached the time slot limit and you can not allocate any other time slots until you have unallocated 

one or more of the time slots currently allocated.

Cabling for DEI Digital Capability

A 15 ft (5 m.) 25-pair cable is available for connecting DEM-16 ports to the main distribution frame 

(MDF). The cable, part number 813.1814, is terminated on one end with four 8-pin, 8-conductor 

plugs wired to RJ-45 specifications using the 568B standard. The other end of the cable is terminated 

with a male Amphenol-type connector. The cable is designed for quick connection of digital 

telephones that have been terminated on a female Amphenol-type connector at the MDF. For usage 

instructions, see “Connecting Station Cables to the MDF” on 

page 1-233
