Connecting the printer (local connection)

Turn the printer and the computer
off.

Connect one end of the interface
cable to the parallel connection of
your computer.

Connect the other end of the
interface cable to the parallel
connection of the printer.

Fasten the connector in place with
the screws on the connection
socket.
For the technical specification of the cable, see page 10-4.
CAUTION
Using the wrong type of cable can result in damage to the machine!
The wrong type of cable may damage the printer's connection socket.

Use only shielded interface cable of type IEEE 1284, Type B to
connect your printer to the computer.
