Installing a hard disk drive
The hard disk drive is required for downloading available PostScript fonts.
The “Sort“ feature is performed with the optional hard drive.
CAUTION
Your hard disk drive could be destroyed!
The hard disk drive is very sensitive. Handling it improperly could result in
damage to the drive, rendering it unusable.

Before unpacking the hard disk drive, touch a metal part of the printer
to discharge static electricity.
➜
Hold the hard disk drive only by the edges.
➜
Avoid contact with the connections and printed surfaces.
➜
When working with the hard disk drive, always set it on an anti-static
mat or a piece of aluminum foil.

Turn the printer OFF and remove
the power plug and the interface
plug from the printer.

Remove the upper cover from the
printer.

Loosen the seven screws and
remove the metal plate.
