Clearing Media Jams 101

Pressing the duplex unit cover release, carefully
open the cover.

Remove the jammed media.

Close the duplex unit’s cover.

If there still is a jam message, press the right-side
cover release button and carefully open the cover
all the way.

Lift the inner paper guide.

Remove the jammed media by pulling it toward
you.
If the media came out easily, skip ahead to
step 15.
If the media did not come out easily or if you
cannot reach the media from this area, keep the
duplex unit’s lower cover open.

Open the duplex unit cover.

Remove the jammed media by pulling it slowly from the bottom of the fuser rollers.
Be careful not to touch the transfer belt while removing jammed media.
