Toner Replenishing Control

• The T/C ratio is detected when Developing Clutch C, M, Y, or Bk is energized (during a 

copy cycle).

• The detection time varies with the system speed.
• The copier compares the T/C reading against “ATDC Level Setting” of “Tech. Rep. 

Mode” to determine the toner replenishing time.

• The maximum length of time through which toner is replenished is fixed since toner 

replenishing is possible only while the developer is being agitated.

• If the copier fails to complete replenishing toner before the fixed maximum length of time 

elapses, it stores the excess time in memory and adds it to the next toner replenishing 
time.

• This mechanism prevents toner from being spilled through the Toner Supply Port when 

the Imaging Unit is slid out of the copier.
